Essential Gear Guide for Beginners
In today’s world, many of us are focused on capturing the moment. Whether you are looking to pick up photography as a hobby or getting your foot in the door to become a professional photographer, everyone has to start with a few essential items. I am going to give you a list of equipment to begin on the journey of photography.
Here are a few items that I have found that are a necessity to make an interest into a hobby.
• Camera: One that can grow with you and has the ability to inter change lenses.
• Camera cleaning kit: This is to keep your camera/lenses from permeant damage from dirt, dust and moisture.
• Camera strap: To keep from dropping your investment.
• Studio lighting: To help with those moment you need more light.
• Tripod: Which has many uses (landscape, portrait, night, street, or even wedding photography)
• Memory cards: At least a backup so you do not run out of memory at the wrong time.
• Lenses: Start with zoom lens (many cameras come with one), a good prime lens (it has more of a fixed focal length) and a telephoto zoom (this is for close up photos from a distance)
• Camera bag: To make transporting all of your camera supplies with ease.
As with many hobbies we do not have the funding to go out and buy everything we need. If you can start off with these items it will make you hobby so much more enjoyable. A great option to make this more affordable is to buy these items used from online sellers or pawn shops.
